Broccoli is an easy vegetable to add in your diet, as you can always find it at the grocery store. Unfortunately, due to its’ bitter taste,  it is one of the least liked. Try this recipe to spice up your broccoli and get a new flavor kick.

Ingredients

1 cup broccoli florets

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Juice from 1/2 lemon

Other Ingredients

  • 1 dash salt
  • Crushed red pepper- to taste
  • Black pepper- to taste

Instructions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 425 F.

Step 2

Cut your broccoli into small florets if you had a full head of broccoli. Leave as is if you bought pre-cut florets. 

Step 3

Put your broccoli in a bowl then drizzle on the olive oil and lemon and top with the spices. Mix the contents with your heands to sprad the flavor.

Step 4

Spread the broccoli on your cooking tray. Make sure each piece has space to itself.

Step 5

When the oven is preheated, place the broccoli on the middle rack of the oven and cook for 20 minutes, or to your desired texture.

For evenly spread crispness, flip the broccoli half way through the cook time.

Tips & Tricks:

  • Add more red pepper flakes for increased heat.
  • Feel free to roast other vegetables using this same process. Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and mushrooms all work well with this recipe!
  • The amount of seasoning is merely a guide. You can play with portions to find a flavor that works best! Just limit salt if you have blood pressure issues.
