Using Pre-Made Chai Tea Bag

3/4 cup low-fat milk, or milk alternative

1/4 cup water

1 chai tea bag

Making Own Chai

Feel free to mess around with the proportions.

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 black tea bag
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3/4 cup milk


Using a Pre-made Tea Bag

Step 1:

Bring 1/4 cup of water to a boil. Add the tea bag and lower to a simmer. Cover, and let simmer for at least 5 minutes (the longer it simmers the stronger the flavor)

Step 2:

Once you are satisfied with the time simmered, pour your chai concentrate into a mug. Then, add your milk of choice.

Making Your Own Chai Tea

Step 1:

Bring water to a boil. Then add in the cardamom, allspice, cloves, cinnamon, ginger, and black tea bag into the pan. Lower to a simmer, cover and let sit for at least 10 minutes

Step 2:

Pour contents into a mug. Top with the milk of your choice.

Tips & Tricks:

  • Honey or maple syrup are great options to sweeten the tea. Try to keep the addition below a teaspoon’s worth.
