1/2 cup oats

1 cup water

1 tablespoon natural, or sugar free, peanut butter

1 banana, sliced

Instructions

Step 1:

Bring 1 cup of water to boil. Once boiling (bubbling), add oats, let it come back to a boil. 

Step 2:

Add in 1/2 of the banana slices to sauce pan. Let boil for a couple min and then lower heat to simmer. 

Step 3:

Keep watch over oats on simmer and stir frequently. Once oats are cooked through (add water if necessary), mix in peanut butter. 

Step 4:

Pour peanut butter oats into small bowl and top with remaining banana slices. 

Tips & Tricks:

  • Although we prefer stovetop, this recipe can absolutely be made in the microwave. You will need to microwave on high for 1-2 minutes stirring after the first minutes, then after 30 seconds. 
  • You can also opt for nonfat (skim), low fat (1-2%), or alternative milk instead of water. This will add more protein, calcium, and Vitamin D. 
  • Almond and cashew butter are great alternative instead of peanut butter.
